Why “Wilson”?
When your name is “Elizabeth”, it’s an invitation for people to shorten it to any number of nicknames. So, if you’re gonna call me a nickname, “Wilson” works .

Songwriting:
I’ve been writing songs since I was a little kid. There were a number of sappy compositions about some animal dying or a long-lost love at the tender age of nine; my attempt to convey deep emotion, no doubt! Now they tend to be more bawdy, with vivid imagery, complex rhymes and word play, and yes—silly stuff.
I love both complex, unexpected musical movement and old fashioned tunes that are downright corny. I’m also a sucker for a great groove, but have yet to create one of my own.

Performing:
I’m really just as happy singing in my living room as with a live audience, but making music with other people, and sharing it with an audience is a feeling of connection I can’t experience anywhere else.

Recording:
BRING ON THE STUDIO AND ALL THE GADGETS! I love everything about it, and if I had the means, I’d have my very own, state-of-the-art recording studio and some great engineers on speed dial.

Collaboration:
Making music with other players is the meat of the endeavor for me.
I LOVE harmonies, singing together or creating them with other instruments. Playing with rhythm, tone colors, and having that musical conversation is always rewarding.

Improvised music is like jumping into a river and doing your best to get to your destination without mishap and having a good time.
There is so much beyond your control, and you just hope that your swimming skills are up to par after a lot of practice.
